7 Dead Movie Characters Returning Soon

4. Steve Trevor

Amazing Spider Man 2 Electro
Warner Bros.

By the time 2017's Wonder Woman came to a close, Chris Pine's Steve Trevor was killed off as he helped the titular Amazon save the world as we know it.

That movie took place in 1918 against the backdrop of World War I, yet the trailers and promotional art for the incoming Wonder Woman 1984 has shocked us all by showing how Steve is to return for this sequel picture that's set 66 years after that previous movie.

How could someone who died over 60 years just casually stroll up and say hello to Gal Gadot's Diana? That's the conundrum here.

It's not yet known just how Steve Trevor is seemingly alive and well in the landscape of 1984, and comic book logic opens up the possibility of so many potential ways to explain this, but what we do know right now is that Chris Pine's character will be back to rock a swanky shell suit and fanny pack combo in this sequel offering.

Is this the real Steve? Is it a doppelganger? Has he actually been frozen in ice this whole time? Or is he now a brainwashed hired gun for the Soviet Union? We'll have to wait until Wonder Woman 1984 finally hits the silver screen - although an equally big question is whether or not Warner Bros. indeed sticks to the sequel's current Christmas Day release date.

Initially pegged for December 2019, Wonder Woman 1984 has already seen its release pushed back four times now.
