7 Dead Movie Characters Returning Soon

5. Grace Augustine

Colonel Miles Quaritch isn't the only Avatar character due for a resurrection, for Sigourney Weaver's Dr. Grace Augustine is another whose 2009 demise is going to be glossed over as Jim Cameron's franchise continues on.

It was actually the aforementioned Quaritch who was responsible for Dr. Augustine's death, with Grace's murder just one of the many that Quaritch was responsible for in that movie. This is a Grace Augustine who is a symbol of hope and wisdom by so many on both the Na'vi and human sides of the fence, and so that death was one of the more emotional moments of Cameron's '09 picture.

Despite Weaver herself teasing that she was returning to the Avatar franchise as a completely different character to Grace, James Cameron has reiterated how Weaver's return will indeed be as Dr. Grace Augustine - and the filmmaker has also confirmed that Weaver's Augustine will be a part of at least the first three of the four impending Avatar sequels.

The first of those sequels has recently been pushed to 2022 due to the lay of the land here in 2020 for the film industry, although the good news is that filming on Avatar 2 was finally completed last month.
