Before Kate Dickie appeared in GoT as the lactating widow Lysa Arryn she made her name in theatre and television before bagging her first lead role as a security camera operator with a troubled past in Andrea Arnold's grim Glasgow set voyeuristic drama Red Road. Though she only appeared in a handful of episodes split between series 1 and 4 of GoT Dickie's portrayal of the Lady of the Vale was one of the more memorable ambiguously sinister characters, in a series replete with its fair share of ambiguous sinister types.
