7 Great Batman Villains (Still Yet To Appear In A Film)

4. Prometheus

Clayface Batman
DC Comics

Batman’s origin story has becoming something of a joke in recent years given how many times we have seen the same scene played out. The upcoming film will likely skip over Thomas and Martha Wayne being murdered in Gotham’s Crime Alley for the six thousandth time and begin with their son already under the Batman cowl.

Prometheus’ origin story, which is the polar opposite of Batman’s, would be a great parallel to explore. The son of two spree killers who were gunned down by police, he subsequently vows revenge on the forces of justice, travelling the world to hone his fighting skills (having no superpowers) and making use of technology to take the lives of law enforcement officers.

His chief weapon, a helmet capable of downloading the skills and knowledge of others, is a fairly ludicrous concept, but eliminate that from the mix, as the writers of season five of Arrow did when they featured him as a main antagonist, and you have a simple but effective story of two individuals at opposite ends of the good/evil spectrum that will stop at nothing to bring down the other.

Having not even been featured on the Animated Series or in an Arkham game as of yet, Prometheus’ potential is certainly untapped. The most well-known version of the character is unnamed, enhancing his enigma, and a story featuring him could take inspiration from action thrillers like Face/Off and The Fugitive in creating an enthralling affair.

Alex was about to write a short biography, but he got distracted by something shiny instead.
