7 Harry Potter Villains Who Weren’t In Slytherin
3. Gilderoy Lockhart (Ravenclaw)
Gilderoy Lockhart was the living embodiment of style over substance. On the surface, he looked like a well-dressed, jovial wizard with plenty of charisma, but deep down, he was a power-hungry fraud with almost no magical ability.
His desperation for fame and wealth led him to commit a number of despicable acts. To begin with, he hunted down a number of heroic witches and wizards, interviewed them about their acts of virtue, then wiped their memories and used their stories to write several best-selling books.
He then went on to teach Defence Against the Dark Arts at Hogwarts, but due to his lack of magical talent, his lessons were just re-enactments of the false tales presented in his books.
Worst of all, he then tried to wipe Harry and Ron’s memories whilst down in the Chamber of Secrets so they wouldn’t blab about his schemes. Luckily, the spell backfired and Lockhart ended up in St Mungo’s Hospital with severe memory loss.
