7 Horribly Disturbing Implications Of Your Favourite Christmas Films

4. Santa Is A Fascist - Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer

Santa RudolphWhat Happens: Rudolph's shiny red nose puts him on the outs with other reindeers and the ostracized misfit runs away from home. While on his travels, Rudolph comes across the Island of Misfit Toys, a purgatory-like island where the unwanted toys from around the world are exiled. After Rudolph proves his worth to Santa by using his shining red nose to navigate Santa's sleigh, Rudolph convinces Santa to find homes for all the misfit toys. The Implications: This is what we can take away from Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer: if you are a toy and you don't fit Santa's preconceived notion of what the perfect toy should look and act like, he's content to leave you to rot on an island prison. Santa must make sure his gift bag is free from the unclean or else they may mix into the general population and dilute the pool of worthy toys. Yes, contrary to what we been led to believe, Santa is more than a jolly fat man who brings joy to the children of the world every Christmas eve, he's also a lunatic, hell-bent on creating a master race of toys and he's more than willing to trample over a few innocents to see his vision come to fruition. To make matters worse, Santa only decides to find homes for the misfit toys after Rudolph cops a deal, promising to guide Santa's sleigh if Santa releases them from their hellish exile. Being magical and all-knowing, Santa could have intervened at any point to rescue the toys but that would have ruined his final solution for a world free from undesirable toys. What if Santa starts getting delusions of grandeur? He is immortal and has an army of elves under his command. It wouldn't take much for Kris Kringle to turn his workshop into a munitions factory. If Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer is any indication, we could soon find ourselves on the wrong end of a Christmas blitzkrieg once Santa gives himself over entirely to his blatantly fascist philosophy.
