7 Horror Movie Prequels That Need To Happen

3. 28 Days Later

Cabin In The Woods

28 Days Later was released before zombie movies had completely saturated pop-culture through the likes of The Walking Dead, and was released after they had fallen out of fashion following George Romero’s zombie golden age. It occupied a unique space in the genre’s history where it felt fresh, new and unlike any other horror that was being released at the time.

Unfortunately, another zombie movie in 2020 wouldn’t have that same impact, but an interesting direction could be to focus on the actual twenty-eight days that led to the complete collapse of civilisation.

Although honing in on the actual zombie outbreak isn’t necessarily original, if done with the same restraint and realism with which Danny Boyle applied to his original, it could be a much more affecting approach than many other outbreak movies.

Also, if you consider it only took only twenty-eight days for the Rage virus to completely wipe out the majority of the UK, then the 28 Days prequel could include some pretty dramatic moments at break neck speed, like what was teased at the beginning of 28 Weeks Later.
