7 Horror Movies Where Scientists Are To Blame For Everything
4. The Fly
Ambition is a trait highly appreciated when pursuing scientific endeavors. Ambition leads to discipline and to dedication. It leads to scientists being willing to sacrifice every ounce of energy in their bodies, every second that is left in the clock, in order to obtain the desired results. It may also lead to mental breakdown. Such is the unfortunate case of Dr. Seth Brundle in 1986’s The Fly.
Brundle is a charming yet eccentric scientist obsessed with the theoretical possibility of instantaneous teleportation. Therefore, he has created a couple of shiny tech advanced pods that will make his ambition become a reality. The main events of this movie unfold after Brundle meets journalist Veronica Quaife, who takes the place of the viewer as she is also introduced into this world of mad science and pulsating flesh.
Something goes terribly wrong during one of the experiments (as should be expected), initiating Brundle’s slow and putrid decay, both physical and mental, which ultimately ends when he transforms into a full fledged fly-human monster.
