7 Major Roles Jennifer Lawrence Wanted (But Didn't Get)

6. Easy A (2010)

Jennifer Lawrence The Force Awakens
Screen Gems

One of actress Emma Stone's hallmark roles, Easy A, a raunchy comedy flick from 2010, features the titular Olivia contesting with a nasty rumor spreading across her school, as well as the nasty reputation she’s garnered because of it. There’s more to it than that, of course, and it’s often thought of as one of the best comedy films of recent years.

Though a Hollywood icon in her own right, Easy A could have served as yet another fantastic film on Jennifer Lawrence's resume. Lawrence isn't typically recognized for her skills as a humorist, but her bubbly, easy-going personality would have made her a great fit.

Eventually landing the role of Katniss Everdeen in The Hunger Games films, we know that Lawrence got her big break, but who knows what might have happened if her time in the spotlight had started a little sooner. Audiences love to think of Lawrence as the passionate young firecracker from The Hunger Games, and there is a chance that her role in a major comedy film would have impacted her image severely enough to disqualify her from what would become her most iconic role.
