7 Man Of Steel Criticisms Which Were Completely Unfair

4. Not Enough Lois And Clark

The most iconic relationship in the entirety of comic books? A bold statement perhaps, but an accurate one. Lois and Clark's romance is the subject of feverish fan anticipation just as much as his battles with Lex Luthor and the lack of said romance in Man Of Steel led many to bemoan the lack of humour and light-heartedness that was so prevalent in the previous Superman movies. However, we must not forget that Man Of Steel is an origin story. It has a lot of boxes to tick due to the immense amount of content and mythology contained within the DC universe and, had Snyder taken that approach, the whole thing would have felt too rushed with nothing left for the sequel. There are glimpses of a spark and of course we have that kiss at the end but, wisely, Snyder decided to focus his story on Superman's introduction to the real world and how we would deal with it. By sidelining the romance, Snyder whetted our appetite for the inevitable get together which will, no doubt, rear its head again in the sequel. Unless a certain Caped Crusader has anything to say about it.
