7 Marvel Villains Saved By The MCU
3. Typhoid Mary
Typhoid Mary is one of the most tragic, dangerous, and overall well-known members of Daredevil's rogue's gallery, in good company with the likes of Bullseye and Kingpin.
In turn, the word "disappointing" doesn't even begin to cover it when discussing the fact that the character's first live-action appearance came in the aforementioned Elektra movie. Worse yet, rather than tackle any of the tough, controversial aspects that make the character who she is, the film simply decided to turn Typhoid into little more than a discount Poison Ivy.
Netflix once again came to the rescue, brining Typhoid Mary into the fold for the second season of Marvel's Iron Fist. And say what you will about the series, but there's absolutely no denying that the version of Mary portrayed this time around was infinitely better and more developed than the one we got back in 2005.
Part of the reason this new take on Mary was so compelling was that it tackled the character's aggressively dark past and struggles with mental illness head-on. Such a task can be tricky to be sure, but worked largely due to the wickedly talented Alice Eve's performance as the character, which deliberately keeps the audience guessing as the season progresses.
