7 More MCU Deleted Scenes That Should've Stayed In Their Movies
4. Starforce Mission Prep (Captain Marvel)
The Scene
Another scene that takes place near the start of Captain Marvel, this one is set right before the Starforce team embarks on its mission to rescue an undercover operative. While preparing, Captain Marvel and her colleagues fire a few jabs at each other, and reminisce about a previous mission that didn't exactly go to plan.
Why It Should've Stayed
In addition to underusing Hala itself, Captain Marvel also underused the Starforce team. While Jude Law's Yon-Rogg had a substantial role, the likes of Gemma Chan's Minn-Erva and Djimon Hounsou's Korath barely had anything to do, so getting to spend more time with them - even for these brief few seconds - would've been a welcome way to buff up the film's runtime.
It's important to note that, as the film currently stands, there's already a scene that shows the Starforce crew getting ready for their mission, so it's unclear whether this deleted one would have to replace the one that made the final cut.
Even if that were the case, this version is superior. You can feel an underlying vibe that Minn-Erva really doesn't like Carol (which is revealed later on) and the comedy is cleaner and sharper, with the scene as a whole having a much snappier pace.
The best way to do it would probably be to mash both scenes together. That way, you get the best parts of both, and the Starforce team would get that extra bit of dialogue.
