7 Most Exciting New Additions To Captain America: Civil War
5. Vasily Karpov (Gene Farber)
Not a lot has been made of this one, compared to some of the starrier additions, but Gene Farber will be playing the comic character Vasily Karpov in Civil War. In the comics, Karpov is a Soviet officer. Ruthless and efficient, he worked with Captain America to help foil a plot by the Red Skull, which led to him both respecting and fearing the First Avenger, however, he was also responsible for the brainwashing of Bucky Barnes, turning him into the Winter Soldier. Quite what his role will be in this film isn't known, but if it's anything like the comics then he should have a decent part to play in the arc of Bucky getting his memories back and fighting alongside his ol' buddy Steve Rogers. Farber, meanwhile, has previous when it comes to Marvel Soviet characters, having played a Soviet radioman in X-Men: First Class, and a Russian criminal in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 video game,
