7 Most Idiotic Things Fanboys Want From Upcoming Movies

1. Their Childhoods Back - Star Wars: The Force Awakens

Star Wars: The Force Awakens is one of the most hyped movies ever made. The collective fever surrounding the release of Star Wars' seventh episode is beyond words. And if it turns out to be a "pretty good" movie, given all the expectations that go hand in hand with a product of this infamy, that should be enough, right? Considering the ill-judged prequel trilogy, a relatively solid Star Wars movie is a realistic thing to hope for, isn't it? For some people, though, that simply won't be enough: for the biggest Star Wars fanboys out there, only a movie that literally gives them their childhood back will deliver what they feel like The Force Awakens owes them. They want something new and progressive that still feels and looks like the classic Star Wars movies, failing to realise that such a thing is near impossible to achieve. The reason is nostalgia: it warps and manipulates feelings. Even if Star Wars: The Force Awakens is - fundamentally and objectively - a better movie than The Empire Strikes Back, no fanboy would ever declare it as such. They have too much history with the franchise; their memories were created in a state of childlike wonder, at a time when "expectations" weren't a factor. To ask The Force Awakens to give you back your childhood is the most idiotic of all fan requests. Let it be what it wants. Like this article? Do you agree or disagree with these fanboy expectations?
