7 Netflix Films We Can't Wait To See In 2021 (And 3 We'll Skip)

4. We'll Skip - Tall Girl 2

Tall Girl opened to much ridicule in 2019, with many critics and viewers finding fault (and unintentional humour) in its portrayal of height-based discrimination. The poorly-received teen comedy stars Ava Michelle as, you guessed it, a tall girl struggling in high school due to her height.

While critics were largely unimpressed with the film's clunky dialogue, awkward plotlines, and generic format, audiences were considerably less indifferent. Only a month after its release, Tall Girl had reportedly been seen by around forty-one million viewers.

Due to its relative commercial success, Netflix announced in December 2020 that a sequel was in the works, and the imaginatively named Tall Girl 2 is now scheduled for a 2021 release. However, there have been few updates since the sequel was first announced and we anticipate that this release date may be altered in the coming months.

Regardless of when the sequel is released, we will be unlikely to flock to our screens to tune in. While the original film's young cast were surprisingly charming, we have little faith that Tall Girl 2 will defy its critics' expectations and take the series in new directions.
