7. Unexplained Ship Crew Deaths - The Lost World: Jurassic Park
The Plot Hole: "How the heck did a T-Rex manage to get inside the ship's control room and eat the crew? He's too darn big!"
The Deleted Scene: One of the best things about Steven Spielberg's relatively mediocre follow-up to
Jurassic Park was the fact that we got to see a T-Rex stalking the mainland for a bit. Our giant buddy is shipped there via boat, of course, but there's always been something strange about this scene - regarding the T-Rex's eventual escape - that has bugged fans: how, despite being as tall and wide as a bus, does it manage to butcher the entire crew of the ship when they're safely inside a control room? I mean, there's no way the dinosaur could've gotten inside, right? We can see the parameters and the size of the door - it just doesn't make an inch of sense. To get our answer, though, we can head straight to David Koepp's original script, which details a scene which involves a group of velociraptors who are also boarded onto the ship at the same time. They, too, escape and go on to butcher the crew. Unfortunately the scene was never filmed, but at least it provides a bit of closure as to how or why such a bizarrely unexplained moment made it into movie.
