5. Tokio Jokio Warner Bros, 1943
Now we move out of the more subtle comparative examples of racism, and enter the territory of the oh my God, this cant be real racism. This short is supposed to be a Japanese propaganda film that was snuck out of Japan, and so presents itself as a mockumentary of sorts. The content is quite mind blowing there are multiple instances of racist dialogue such as prease (instead of please) and rosing face (instead of losing face); a skunk that is apparently so offended by the scent of the Japanese that he has to turn around and go home; and a vulture in place of a rooster that says cock-a-doodle-do prease. It is best just to watch this one, because transcripting everything in it doesnt give it even half of the cumulative effect that you get from watching the whole thing. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KVYTI1tdYoA
