7 Reasons Deadpool Has The Edge Over X-Men: Apocalypse

1. Goodbye, Fourth Wall, We Hardly Knew Thee

Deadpool is not going to break the fourth wall. Deadpool is going to obliterate the fourth wall, crush it into pieces, roll it up, smoke it, ash out the roach, swallow it and then snort the ash. Anyone who is familiar with the character knows that utilizing this abstract literary technique is one of his selling points. In fact, Deadpool will not just be the only superhero film to break the wall frequently, but one of the only mainstream films to wholeheartedly do so. Deadpool is destined to be the Chris Jericho of comic book movies. All one must do is watch the trailer to see that the fourth wall truly stands no chance in Deadpool. One hilarious example is when Wade Wilson, being carted off to what can only be assumed as extremely painful experiments, begs his handlers to not make his new suit green or animated, because the Green Lantern movie was a thing that happened and the world was worse off because of it. Unless Apocalypse turns to the camera and calls out the Power Rangers, or Olivia Munn finally confesses her unbridled love for me (don€™t act like it isn€™t obvious), then the zero amount of care that Deadpool takes to keep the fourth wall intact is but one more reason why he has the edge over Hugh Jackman€™s sideburns. So there you have it, folks! Although they will both both be entertaining films in their own right, it is the Deadpool movie that will take the mutant throne and usurp the X-Men as the premier king of the X Universe. Deadpool is set to release February 4, 2016 and X-Men: Age of Apocalypse will drop on 27 May, 2016.
