7 Reasons Why Jon Kasdan Is Perfect For Indiana Jones 5

6. His Reaction To Solo

So, Solo: A Star Wars Story was not the universal hit that Disney was hoping for. It debuted to the lowest opening weekend box office of any of the modern Star Wars films and had a quicker box office decline than any of the other films. Chalk this up to opening in a crowded summer, the relatively light advertising, Disney's other box office behemoth (Infinity War), lukewarm reviews, the very public production woes, or just opening another Star Wars movie too soon after the previous one.

Regardless, Jon Kasdan took all of this like a champ.

Solo was Kasdan's first foray into the world of Lucasfilm, writing the script with his father, (and screenwriting/Star Wars legend) Lawrence Kasdan. And yet, despite all the troubles the production and its release saw, Kasdan has adamantly stood by his work. On Twitter, his demeanor has remained incredibly upbeat, having conversations with people who both liked and did not like the film.

All of this to say, despite his relative newcomer status to the world of giant blockbusters, Kasdan handles himself like a pro. He stands by his work and didn't let any level of backlash get to him. Also, there's further proof of this in his own personal confirmation that he's involved with Indy 5;

"I asked the folks at Lucasfilm how I should respond to that very question. They said, 'Just tell them that we have top men working on it right now.' I said, 'Okay, but I think what they're asking is... who?' And all they said was, 'Top. Men.'"
