2. The Trailer Is The Perfect Length

The
Man of Steel trailer I've been referring to for the length of this article is largely impressive for a modern trailer. In fact, almost all of the trailers for this movie were impressive (save for the last one, perhaps), because they opted to leave the details of the story out, and chose to represent the movie thematically: not a lot of plot was given away, which is a trait that pretty much every other trailer in the world seems to avoid. We're always given far too much information nowadays when it comes to trailers, don't you think? Fact is, though, the actual movie is far too long, and by the end, I felt beaten senseless by the never-ending battles and CGI mayhem, as though Superman himself had pummelled me in the face eight or nine times in a row. I'm still genuinely perplexed as to how such a thin storyline took 2 hours and 20 minutes to unfold. So whereas the trailer knew exactly when to quit, the movie itself didn't: and that, my friends, is why it wins in this category, too. Don't worry, we're almost through.
