5. Genie Is The Peddler - Aladdin

There are many urban legends surrounding Disney's Aladdin. That one about it being set in a post-apocalyptic wasteland definitely has merit, but has never been confirmed.

The film's co-director Ron Clements did, however, endorse another popular fan theory less than two years ago, some 23 years after its original release, revealing that the peddler who opens the film is none other than everyone's favourite blue lamp dweller the Genie.

The writing was always on the wall on this one - both characters are voiced by the late Robin Williams and are the only two in the film with four digits on each hand.

A scene that ended up on the cutting room floor would have outed the peddler as Genie, but since it's never turned up on any home media release, you'll just have to take Clements's word for it.
