8 Comic Book Film Adaptations You Didn't Know Were In Development

1. Big Hero 6 2

Big Hero 6 is currently the only in-house Disney movie to be based on a Marvel property, although it's unlikely to be the last; after winning the Best Animated Feature Oscar and grossing a huge $657 worldwide, it's a bona fide hit. Directors Don Hall and Chris Williams expressed interest in a sequel, before the Marvel Mastermind himself, Stan Lee, let slip that it was in the works in an interview with the Toronto Sun. So thanks to Stan the Man, it appears that we can expect to see teenage science genius Hiro Hamada, his trusty robot Baymax, and the rest of the team in action again. It's worth noting that the original Marvel comic was hugely different from the movie, with one of the most striking changes being the taking of Baymax from ugly green monster to giant cuddly robot. In addition, Fred really does turn into a giant lizard rather than just wearing a lizard powersuit, and there was even an cursed, undead warrior called Ebon Samurai on the team. So if you fancy a version of Big Hero 6 with some slightly less friendly characters, then definitely check out the original comic series while you wait for the sequel. Are there any more comic book movies in development? Let us know any we missed down in the comments.
