7 Sport Stars Who Tried To Break Hollywood

Poor Edson Arantes do Nascimento, or Pelé as he was more popularly known as by everyone except his mum. He really was born in the wrong era, because if he was playing today, he'd probably be insanely rich and own half the planet or something mad like that.

Money and power isn't everything though, (unless you're Trump, in which case it really is all you've got) and Pelé probably doesn't need any of that anyway. Because he remains the greatest footballer of all-time and a bona fide legend in the game. He also 'trod the boards' too. If by 'trod the boards', you mean 'starred as essentially himself alongside Michael Caine and Sylvester Stallone in the standard Boxing Day film, Escape to Victory'.

Pelé was never much of an actor though and he left the thespian game soon after, although he did briefly return to 'tread the boards' later on in his career. And if by 'tread the boards', you mean 'star in an advert for impotence treatment'. This acting role was by far and away, his longest performance to date. Badum. Tish.
