7 Star Wars Characters Who Might Get A Spin-Off Movie

7. Yoda

Yoda is - without a doubt - one of the most beloved characters in the Star Wars Universe. It has long been documented that George Lucas took an amazing risk when working on the Empire Strikes Back when he had his main protagonist learning about the ways of the Force from a Muppet. That gamble paid off dividends, though, as it's impossible to deny the likeable quality of this backwards speaking Jedi Master (where size matters not). However, a Yoda spin-off film would be a bad idea. Much like Darth Vader prior to the prequel trilogy, what makes him so great as a character is the inherent mystery. The only story that could be told of Yoda would be an origin story. We don't need to know his species, we don't need know his path to becoming a Jedi, and we don't need to know how he has managed to live for 900 years. As an audience, it is important to look at the prequel trilogy as Yoda's back story and that should be enough. Delving too deeply into the history of who Yoda is would only diminish his character.
