2. Colin (2008)
What is so different about it?Colin, like 1993's
Return of the Living Dead 3, is filmed from the perspective of a zombie - in this case, the titular character
Colin. The major difference between the two is that
Return of the Living Dead 3 had a $2m budget, while
Colin's budget was said to be a mere £45. Filmed on a camcorder,
Colin follows the titular character after he is bitten by his flatmate Damien during a zombie epidemic, and sees him transform and wander the streets. The film is quite unique in the sense that, at times, you actually feel very sorry for zombie Colin - such as when he is mugged for his trainers and when a makeshift grenade destroys most of his face. The film was positively received at numerous festivals prior to its release - particularly in relation to its budget - but has since been slated by harsh critics and holds a mediocre 46% rating on RottenTomatoes.com.
Why have you probably never seen it? Obviously, with such a tiny budget, there wasn't exactly a massive marketing campaign for the movie and, upon its release, it went straight to DVD.
