7 Ways Deadpool 2 Sets Up Future Sequels

Outside of the Deadpool properties, there's a deal on the table for 20th Century Fox to be taken over by Disney. Whilst it hasn't gone ahead yet and there isn't word on how it would be dealt with, it does mean that Deadpool and the X-Men will be back under the same roof as the rest of the Marvel fare - offering more than ample opportunity for bigger cameos, features, and crossovers than ever before.

Deadpool and Deadpool 2 both show Wade Wilson as being hyper aware of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, even referring to Josh Brolin's Cable as 'Thanos' in the fourth-wall breaking style. The continual jabs at Marvel would be all the more impressive and hilarious to see in a world where the two can actually collide - think of a film where Deadpool can actually tread toe to toe with Iron Man, Captain America, or even The Hulk.

Of course, Avengers 4 will also reveal how likely any of that is since half the characters disappeared on the wind the last time we saw them, but still, the sentiment is there. Whilst nothing is confirmed yet and talks are still underway, Deadpool has certainly set up an amazing grounding for Marvel to get thoroughly in on the joke.
