Though Lethal Weapon the show wasn’t the roaring success that it perhaps hoped, it did prove that tough '80s cop action movies are not off limits when it comes to re-booting for TV. However, where Lethal Weapon relied on the chemistry between its two main characters, Die Hard leans on traditional action set pieces and dry quips.

If there's something that TV is missing, it's proper action shows. There are plenty of superhero romps, political thrillers or sci-fi adventures, but not so much in the way of old school stunts and explosions. What better than Die Hard to fill that void?

Though John McClane would inevitably be played by someone other than Bruce Willis, it would be a shame to not at least try and entice the original star back to his old yippee ki yay stomping grounds. Furthermore, the pressure for any young actor trying to fill the shoes of such an iconic role might just be its undoing, and rather than someone making it their own, we might just end up with a bad Bruce Willis impersonation.
