8 ‘80s Movies That Would Secretly Make Great TV Shows
3. Beetlejuice
Beetlejuice is Tim Burton's darkest, and yet most purely enjoyable movie in his filmography. However, we barely even scratched the surface of its eclectic afterlife, leaving plenty more to be discovered in a TV version.
Though it seems unlikely that Michael Keaton would reprise the role should a TV version be commissioned, it would still be a joy to see the larger than life character of Beetlejuice return, who despite being an iconic movie figure, has rarely graced our screens since the original.
It's hard to believe that such a loved, cult-classic never fell victim to the sequel or remake fate. Beetlejuice is one of those rare cases of being a complete, stand alone film that has managed to maintain its aura without the need to build a franchise around it. However, it seems almost too good to be true, and surely only a matter of time until that is all undone when it's brought to life for the Netflix generation.
