8 Actors We Want For Quentin Tarantino's The Hateful Eight
5. Robert Downey Jr.
If there's one thing Robert Downey Jr. is better at than anything else, it's rattling through a witty monologue with pinpoint precision and leaving us in awe. Just look at the Iron Man films, and how he handles the quips with a machinegun-like efficiency. Downey has proven himself reliably brilliant in a variety of roles, and would be an easy fit for Tarantino's style of extended dialogues, just as he was with Joss Whedon's very distinctive approach in The Avengers. Given his rise to uber-fame once again in the last 5 years, Downey could even take the lead role, and that would damn-near guarantee the film becoming one of Tarantino's most financially successful to date. Away from cynical dollar-counting though, Downey is on his on terms a brilliant choice to play the protagonist, or in the very least a significant role that allows him to show off the cutting eloquence we already know he has.
