8 Actors Who Totally Transformed Themselves For Upcoming Movies

2. Margot Robbie (Mary Queen Of Scots)

When Margot Robbie was cast to play Queen Elizabeth I in this upcoming historical drama, there was a lot of justified concern that the actress was too conventionally beautiful to play the rather plain-looking monarch.

The first pictures from the movie make it clear this isn't the case at all, though, with Robbie having her natural beauty toned down with heaps of makeup.

Aptly, the real Elizabeth I also had her own appearance diminished by her excessive use of make-up, with the vinegar-lead concoction of the era corroding her complexion, combined with a skin-ravaging bout of smallpox.

Some sneaky set photos have also shown that Robbie's transformation isn't limited to a huge wig and powderface: the movie will feature sequences where Elizabeth's face is stripped bare, with the heavily pock-marked visage visible underneath.

Seriously, though, she looks like Pennywise in the above picture, right?
