Movie studios basically try to cast Game of Thrones actors in just about everything, regardless of whether they're suited for it, because their presence alone gives the project greater visibility among a huge worldwide fanbase.

Emilia Clarke was already thrown haphazardly into the Terminator franchise and hilariously ended up giving a less-convincing performance than Jai Courtney, and now she's landed the female lead in the upcoming Han Solo-centric Star Wars Anthology movie.

Let's face it, though, Clarke just isn't a particularly good actress, and she just about gets away with it on Game of Thrones because she's propped up by excellent writing and direction, and much of her dialogue is spoken in a foreign tongue where it's easier to mask bad acting.

It feels like an extremely cynical move to cast her in the Han Solo movie just because of her popularity, as she sure didn't make it in on actual merit. Expect cringe-worthy line readings and unintentionally hilarious facial expressions throughout.
