8 Actors Whose Upcoming Movies Could End Their Careers

2. Armie Hammer - The Man From U.N.C.L.E.

Ever since he turned in two brilliant performances in David Fincher's majestic Facebook film, The Social Network, Hollywood has been trying to make Armie Hammer happen. It hasn't gone particularly well, all things considered: The Lone Ranger, his first major vehicle (which co-starred none other than Johnny Depp), flopped at the box office in a major way, whilst he felt rather invisible in Mirror, Mirror, in which he played a fairy-tale prince. There was a clear sense of, "Oh, God, what do we do with Armie Hammer now?" in the sad aftermath of The Lone Ranger's failings, and now he's set for a starring role in Guy Ritchie's filmic adaptation of The Man From U.N.C.L.E., which could either end up with Sherlock Holmes styled success, or fall away into nothingness like the ill-judged Swept Away. But The Man From U.N.C.L.E. has "flop" written all over it, and should it follow The Lone Ranger as another huge box office bomb (it cost $75 million), there's a good chance that poor Armie Hammer could be bidding his career as a Hollywood leading man goodbye.
