Coming off the back of universally praised Moonrise Kingdom, innovative director Wes Anderson is back with his next unconventional effort. One of Andersons most endearing qualities is the repeat viewing rewards from his back catalogue. While not all of his efforts hit the nail on the head the first time around, most entries have stood the test of time, each with a devoted fan base. It will therefore be interesting to see whether The Grand Budapest Hotel is an immediate hit, or a slow burn. With usual Anderson players like Owen Wilson, Bill Murray and Jason Schwartzman being joined by first timers Ralph Fiennes and Saoirse Ronan, the cast and story will hopefully add to the impressive back catalogue of one of cinemas most intriguing and delightful directors.
As a pretty nerdy guy, I've loved film and television since I was a wee lad. Growing up in Ireland, The Den was the show to watch with it playing Batman The Animated Series, Star Trek: The Next Generation and everything in between. I have an MA in Radio and Television Production and have written for various sites, hope you enjoy my articles/lists for What Culture!
