8 Awkward MCU Moments That Must Have Happened Off-Screen

5. Clint Recruits Scott - Captain America: Civil War

What started as a difference in opinion between Tony Stark and Steve Rogers on the Sokovia Accords grew into a full scale war between the two. Both men did some recruiting for a fight that came to a head in a deserted airport in Germany.

While Tony already had several Avengers and a Wakandan Prince on his side, he recruited Spider-Man. Steve on the other hand, on the back of Sam’s advice, pulled in Scott Lang. More accurately, he asked Hawkeye to pull in Scott Lang.

The first that is seen of Ant-Man in Civil War is discombobulated in the back of a van, not even knowing what time zone he was in. Unfortunately, we’re left to only imagine how this recruitment process went as Cap sent his grumpiest teammate to pick up his newest teammate.

It’s hard to imagine Clint had the most patience for Scott and his more jovial nature. Hawkeye was likely already pissed off that he wasn’t with his family, and probably took this out on Ant-Man. Scott called him “Arrow Guy” during the fight, so Clint apparently brought Scott to Germany without even telling him his name!
