8 Beloved Child Actors Who Completely Disappeared From Our Screens

8. Frankie Muniz

The former star of Malcolm In The Middle hasn't made too many memorable appearances since the end of his sitcom's six-year run (and any he has have likely been overshadowed by his former co-star Bryan Cranston's own success on another TV show), but that's not for lack of trying. Muniz tried to make the transition from TV to film star in the mid-2000s, and had a fair crack at it with Big Fat Liar and the Agent Cody Banks movies, but nothing seemed to stick as the young actor didn't have a whole lot of range beyond his trademark nebbishy wisecracker Malcolm.
After a couple of direct-to-DVD films and a cameo as Buddy Holly in Walk Hard in 2007, Muniz signed a two-year contract with Jensen Motorsport as a driver and participated in a bunch of races all over the country. Who would have thunk it? Never one to stick at something for too long, though, Frankie eventually quit the racing and started drumming for bands instead, though seemingly not ones that anybody has heard of. At least he seems happy with where he's at, and that's the important thing, right?
