8 Biggest Casting Mistakes In Upcoming Movies

8. Will Smith As Deadshot - Suicide Squad

I wasn't overly impressed with the original casting report for Suicide Squad. Margot Robbie was an excellent call as Harley Quinn, but nobody else fully convinced - Rick Flag was interesting until Tom Hardy was replaced by RoboCop, Jared Leto's unveiling as the Joker is one of the worst things I've ever seen and the supporting cast was a whole host of nobodies (and Cara Delevingne for some reason). However, over an excellent marketing campaign I've been won around on just about every aspect of the film. Heck, I'm even excited for Jai Courtney as Captain Boomerang (words I never thought I'd write).

However, there's still one actor who I've been sceptical about from the very start and have seen nothing to sway me otherwise - Will Smith as Deadshot. He certainly looks better in the role than I expected and is unlikely to ruin the film, but I'm still not convinced on him in the role.

Although Smith claims he's had a serious career reevaluation after the total failure of After Earth, he seems to still wear his unearned ego like a badge of honour; he's got top billing in Suicide Squad and all the clues point towards this Slade Wilson being more of an anti-hero - only killing bad guys and wrong incarcerated - something that doesn't seem to belong and most certainly stems from Smith's self-branding.
