7. Baz Luhrmann Will Direct Elvis Presley Biopic

Elvis Presley This pairing is such a match made in Heaven that it's actually quite surprising it hasn't happened already. Come to think of it, the fact that we haven't even seen a proper Elvis biopic yet is baffling. Luckily, one is in the works over at Warner Bros., with The Great Gatsby and Moulin Rouge director Baz Luhrmann set to direct. Things are still in early stages of development, but a script has been written by Fifty Shades of Grey scribe Kelly Marcel. Luhrmann is an absolutely perfect choice for a movie like this, thanks to his signature flare for over-the-top and stylistic visuals, and he showed with Gatsby that he can handle a big, artistic, and at times dramatic tale. Plus, this sounds a hell of a lot more exciting than that Kung Fu remake that Luhrmann just attached himself to. Maybe he's come to his senses and will stick to bringing the King to life instead.
