6. Halloween 3D Is Moving Forward

Our horror icons have all been getting a bit of a rebirth over the last few years, and while Jason Vorhees and Ghostface will be heading to the small screen, Michael Myers is staying right where he belongs. In fact, he'll be delivering his scares in three dimensions, thanks to the Weinstein Company. That's right, Halloween 3D is on the way, according to our friends over at Bloody Disgusting. A few years ago My Bloody Valentine 3D director Patrick Lussier worked on a script for Halloween 3D with his writing partner Todd Farmer, but nothing has been heard of it since 2009. Hopefully, Halloween 3D will find a way to stand apart from the John Carpenter original and the nine sequels that followed, as well as the less-than-well-received remakes from Rob Zombie, without relying on the 3D as a mere gimmick. But, this is a horror film after all, and these days it's hard to expect much, especially with a franchise that's been going on as long as this one.
