8 Casting Decisions In Upcoming Movies That Are Completely Perfect

5. Toby Jones/Bill Nighy - Captain George Mainwaring/Sgt. Arthur Wilson (Dad's Army)

Remaking beloved TV show Dad's Army as a film was a risky business, given that said TV show succeed of the back of its brilliant actors (and the way these brilliant actors sold their lines in every episode). How could a movie version find people to match the original cast? Thankfully, the people tasked with casting the upcoming Dad's Army film are apparently certified geniuses of the re-imagining kind, because they somehow managed to find exactly the right people to play the main characters of Captain George Mainwaring and Sgt. Arthur Wilson in the form of the always sensational Toby Jones and Bill Nighy. The parts of Mainwaring and Wilson were originally immortalised by Arthur Lowe and John Le Mesurier on television, and before Jones and Nighy were cast it was hard to imagine a duo who could match their brilliance; going by the trailer, however it's not going to be a problem - not only do these guys look like their '60s counterparts, they're appear to be doing a great job at channeling the icons without it feeling like mere impersonation. Bloody marvellous.
