8 Casting Decisions That Could Ruin 2016's Biggest Movies

8. Felicity Jones - Rogue One: A Star Wars Story

By far, this is the least concerning casting decision to be included on this list, but it's not exactly inspired casting, is it? That's not to deride Felicity Jones, who is a capable and serviceable actress. It's just that she's not particularly interesting or exciting as a choice for main character in the upcoming Star Wars spin-off movie that is Rogue One. For starters, she almost always plays the same character (a well-to-do Englishwoman), and - on the surface, at least - feels a bit too similar to Rey, the protagonist of Episode VII (an "English Rose" type, if you will). Thing is, you always know what you're going to get with Felicity Jones, and although there's very little chance that her acting ability will bring the movie down (she's far too talented for that), the worry is that she'll wind up playing a somewhat forgettable character. Basically, this appears to have the bones of a role that Alicia Vikander should have been hired for. Here's hoping that Jones manages to bring something special to it, regardless.
