8 Child Actors Who We Wish Had Stayed Kids

8. Jonathan Lipnicki

People tend to remember three things about Jerry Maguire, Tom Cruise's 1996 blockbuster about a sports agent: "Show me the money!", "You had me at hello" and that adorable little creature in the big glasses who popped up with facts about the human head and was troublingly good at dealing with drunk adults. His name was Ray and he was played by the unreasonably cute six year old, Jonathan Lipnicki. Despite sharing the screen with Cruise, Renee Zellweger and Cuba Gooding Jnr. at his most intense, Lipnicki was the breakout star of the film, going on to film equally charming roles in Stuart Little and Dawson's Creek. Oh, those bespectacled salad days. The defining feature of the now 24 year old Lipnicki is a lack of interest in shirts. While still pursuing performance, he seems to have ever so slight of a chip on his shoulder, complaining that despite his formal acting training, people can't separate him from his childhood roles. So he is forcing them to separate him, by revealing his very adult abs at every given opportunity. Now, this writer is as into abs as much the next person who is mildly into abs but it's hard to see how they're going to score him the meaty dramatic roles he seems to so desire.

Brydie is an Australian writer and performer living in London and she complains exactly the same amount about the weather as every other Australian living in London. Yes, that is her natural lip colour, no, she will not be taking any further questions at this time.
