8 Classic Hammer Horror Films You Need To See
1. Dracula
Think of a vampire and what do you see? A suave mother in a cape with sharp pointy fangs? Well then, you've got Christopher Lee and Hammer Films to thank for that.
More threatening and sexual than Bela Lugosi's version and just better IN EVERY WAY than Francis Ford Coppola's 1992 abomination ("I know where the bastard sleeps, sir"), this 1958 movie is still the standard by which all bloodsuckers are held accountable to.
With Lee as the erstwhile Count and Cushing as his perfect foil in Van Helsing, these two would go on to appear in twenty more movies together but never again quite reach these heights.
Add a perfectly paced script and violence that reveals in it's technicolor glory and Dracula is a legitimate masterpiece. One that can't be done justice in 250 words.
So if, for whatever reason, you haven't seen this movie then go find yourself a copy. You won't be disappointed.
