3. Neighbours The Doors
An unusual choice to say the least for several reasons. One is that it wasn't really an appropriate movie for kids to watch, two is that it's known as a Dan Ackroyd/John Belushi film, not for its soundtrack, and third is that a lot of people would probably have expected me to mention The Blues Brothers. Now even though that soundtrack is awesome and paved the way for my love of blues, it kind of falls under the musical and/or mockumentary label as the band initially did not exist other than being the background musos for Saturday Night Live. As I said before, movie ratings did not matter when the parents are trying to keep their beloved children out of the danger that is involved with living in the outback, so I got to see this film at a young and not at all appropriate age. Another underrated film starring Belushi as Earl Keese, who is thrust into rather a demented situation with the arrival of the maniacal Vic and his sex-crazed wife Ramona. It's a very funny film which I still laugh at to this day, but the scene where Belushi is creeping around outside of Ackroyds house and spies on him making the Italian food he was supposed to buy with Earl's money always remained with me for some reason, and it wasn't until I was a little older and a little wiser did I realized it was because he was grooving out the The Doors and their smash hit. Hello I Love You. I love that song. It's probably my favorite alongside "Break on Thru" And this is the movie I have to thank for introducing me to the genius that was Jim Morrison. Because if it wasn't for that single scene, I would not have asked my parents or siblings about this song and would not have realized that it was sitting in the jukebox the whole time (my parents owned a pub, remember), along with Light My Fire. Who would've though? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hzM71scYw0M

Passions in life: Movies, Music and Wrestling....My childhood was spent growing up in the "Outback" of Australia (I'm a little bit country) and my adulthood resided within the city limits (I'm a little bit rock and roll), so you could say that I am the best (or worst) of both worlds. A 6 foot 7 ex wannabe pro wrestler (whose career was cut short due to a busted back, NOT caused by wrestling) & muso who has a precocious cat & a habit of doing the wrong thing but for the right reasons. The story of my life????
