8 Comic Book Characters The Undertaker Could Play In A Movie
3. Scarebeast
Scarecrow has already been portrayed in live action - Cillian Murphy portrays Dr. Jonathan Crane/Scarecrow in Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy - and he did a pretty decent job. The trilogy version of the Scarecrow wore a burlap sack with a built-in rebreather, which doubled as a gas mask in his fear experiments and was otherwise slight in build and a bit of a wimp. It's pretty clear, therefore, that the Undertaker is unsuitable for the role. But what about the Scarecrow's monstrous alter-ego the Scarebeast? In 2004's Batman story arc "As the Crow Flies", Scarecrow is hired by the Penguin under false pretenses. Dr. Linda Friitawa then secretly mutates Scarecrow into the murderous creature. He grows in size and becomes more bestial, as the name would suggest, and gains a level of super-strength and durability and viciousness that Scarecrow himself never had before. As Scarebeast, the Undertaker could even wear his trademark hat and without the need to say an awful lot, apart from the occasional grunt and the odd one-liner, it wouldn't be too demanding a role under the cloak of CGI.
