7. Jackie Chan's First Strike - Snowmobile Vs. Snowboard Vs. Helicopter Chase
We all love Jackie Chan. And we all love the snow. So put the two together and we've got a brilliant scene. Jackie Chan is well-known for his audacious stunts and epic fight scenes. But what is lesser known is his ability to wear a ridiculous seal hat and still accomplish a thrilling chase sequence. The 1996 Hong Kong action movie First Strike stars Jackie Chan, and an early chase scene provides some great winter entertainment. Jackie becomes involved in a Hong Kong/CIA/KGB/Australian conspiracy (the usual) and finds himself atop a mountain range in the Ukraine. Taking Admiral Ackbar's lead, Jackie discovers a trap waiting for his colleagues, and a chase down a mountain unfolds. Involving Jackie's martial arts skills, numerous snowmobiles, machine-gun-firing skiers and exploding helicopters, the First Strike chase scene takes the classic ingredients of a mountain-top thriller and adds them all into one brilliant sequence. For the climax of the scene, Jackie Chan actually submerged himself in the icy water and required medical treatment (the usual again).
