3. Aston Martin & Cello Ice Chase - The Living Daylights
James Bond again, but this time Timothy Dalton and a superb car chase in the ice of Czechoslovakia. Driving an Aston Martin Volante with Bond-girl Kara Milovy alongside him, 007 takes the Czech police and military on a high-speed wild goose chase. The scene is brilliant, as Bond uses all of the gadgets available in the car. First he cuts a police car in half with a laser-beam, before using hidden rockets to blow up an obstruction in the road. The chase takes Bond to a frozen lake, where he uses a boat-shed as a makeshift shield from the Czech military's machine guns and rifle-grenades. The image of the Aston Martin emerging out of the exploding shed is memorable and iconic. After having a tyre blown off, Bond steers the Volante in a tight circle and cuts the ice, leaving a Czech police car stranded. The chase ends in a sensational rocket-powered-car ski jump, and the excellently cliché self-destruct button. The chase resumes moments later on a Cello case...
