8 Crazy Fan Theories That Actually Improve Horror Movies

1. Freddy's Revenge Is The Nightmare Of A Bi-Curious Teenager

You might think A Nightmare On Elm Street 2: Freddy€™s Revenge is a bog-standard horror film, but it€™s really a drama about a teen who has to choose between dull normality and the €œman of his dreams.€ Throughout the film, there are subtle (and not so subtle) hints to Jesse's (Mark Patton) fluid sexuality. His favourite breakfast cereal is called Foo Man Chew Flakes, he enjoys contact sports and his Coach is a frequenter of S&M parlours who €œlikes pretty boys... like you.€ His bedroom walls are a shrine to Limahl and Tina Turner, who he dances to while simulating masturbation with a bicycle pump, unaware he€™s living in the house from the first movie. This allows him to find Nancy€™s old diary, and boy do the entries steam him up: €œMarch 15th: He comes to me at night€.horrible, ugly, dirty. Under the sheets with me. Tearing at my nightgown€ he wants to take me to the boiler room.€ Special attention must also be paid to the soundtrack: the song playing over the credits is "Bing Crosby€™s Did You Ever See A Dream Walking?" while a quick perusal of the credits reveals the other choice cuts: "On The Air Tonight" (performed by one Willy Finlayson), "Moving In The Night" and "Touch Me (All Night Long)". That€™s the moment you realize you€™re watching a classy movie. When even the soundtrack is perfectly synched to what the flick is really about. Which other horror movie theories belong on this list?
