8 Crazy Horror Movie Sequels That Almost Happened

4. Freddy Vs. Jason Vs. Ash

Freddy Vs. Jason is the kind of schlocky horror that genre enthusiasts live and die for. Combining all the best bits of big bad horror villains Freddy Krueger and Jason Voorhees to create one campy showdown is the best idea that a filmmaker has come up with in years - but it's not where this crazy crossover train should have terminated. I mean, why stop at two when you can have the lot?

The next instalment in the franchise was supposed to be one that steadily folded in other classic horror characters - with none other than Ash Williams from the Evil Dead series busting his way onto the scene. The chainsaw-handed badass would have been the one to end Freddy Krueger once and for all after finding Krueger tormenting Jason in the form of a disembodied entity, and was such a hotly anticipated follow up to Freddy Vs. Jason that a fan made movie was born in its place when it didn't get greenlit.

Sadly, the film got caught in a tug of war between the three owners of the horror properties, and was shelved when New Line were scared off about Freddy being shown as weak with his second 'loss' in a row. Shame.
