8 Crazy Pixar Fan Theories

2. The Walking Dead Toy Story

Finding Nemo
Disney/AMC

Toy Story was undoubtedly an extremely influential film, changing the way in which animated features were made, not just in the groundbreaking technology but the depth of the stories they were willing to tell. However, according to theory, it has inspired a rather more unlikely copycat: The Walking Dead. While a show about life in the zombie apocalypse may not seem to have much in common with an animation about toys, there are some eerie similarities.

It starts, of course, with the de-facto leaders, who both just so happen to be sheriffs, and lead a rather rag-tag group of misfits. Both have a kid that they care deeply for, who grows up far too fond of the macho lawman best-friend, which leads the two friends to come to blows (Woody and Buzz, Rick and Shane, just in case that wasn't already clear).

It goes beyond that, taking in the singing Southern girl (Jessie/Beth), the white-haired old man (Hershel/Stinky Pete), and the gated communities that aren't the safe-haven they first appeared to be (Daycare/Woodbury) with rather crazed leaders (Lotso/The Governor).

That's a lot of coincidences, and really all that's missing is the reveal that it was Sid who started the zombie apocalypse in the first place. I wouldn't put it past him.
