8 Dead Movie Characters Who Could Actually Return Soon

7. George Kirk - Star Trek

In one of his first major roles outside of Australia, Chris Hemsworth landed himself the gig of playing George Kirk in J.J. Abrams' 2009 Star Trek reboot. The father of a certain James T. Kirk, George was not long for this cinematic world - as he was front-and-centre as his Kelvin vessel exploded as a sacrifice to take down a rival ship.

The legacy left behind by George would go onto inspire his son, yet Hemsworth's character may well have survived what many believed was his death.

Paramount has been spinning its wheels on Star Trek 4 for the past four years now, and the plan for that movie was to pair up the father and son duo of George and James Kirk. Unfortunately, one of the many problems that Star Trek 4 has ran into, is that both Hemsworth and James T. Kirk actor Chris Pine have turned down the offers on the table for this fourth Trek picture.

For Hemsworth's part, he's claimed that the script presented to him wasn't appealing to him at this stage, while others also speculate that the financial aspect of the deals offered to Hemsworth and Pine disappointed the duo.

Early rumblings suggested that George Kirk would be a main part of Star Trek 4 due to time-travel technology. If Paramount can get Star Trek 4 back on track, expect George to be front-and-centre alongside his son.
